Obituary for Albert Burton "Bub" Hale
Albert Burton “Bub” Hale age 86, born and raised in Sparta Township to Albert M. and Mary T. (Bisard) Hale on January 31, 1934. Albert passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus with his loving wife and devoted wife, Mary at his side. He grew up in Sparta and graduated Sparta High School in 1952. He attended Grand Rapids Junior College and then served his Country during Korea in the U. S. Army. He started working at Carnation Milk Co. at the age of 16 and then drove milk tankers to Carnation Milk in Scottville and Sheridan, MI until Carnation Co. closed. He drove truck a short time for White Products delivering water heaters to Greenville, MI. He retired from the Village of Sparta Water Department after 28 years of service as its water superintendent and was the Sparta Township Cemetery Sextant for 50 years. He volunteered with the Sparta Township Fire Department for 17 years. Bub was very civic minded, and He and Mary were foster parents to approx. 60 children. He was very quick witted and loved to write and recited poetry. Bub loved all creatures large and small and was a very tender-hearted individual. He loved to play his harmonica and enjoyed music and dancing. If it was broken, he could probably figure a way to fix it as he was very mechanically inclined and loved to do physical work, the harder the more rewarding it was for him. He felt that a job worth doing was a job worth doing well. He enjoyed gospel singing and country music and would often sing along. He was a classic car nut and loved to go for long rides on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his friends. He was a great conversationalist. His family would like to thank all the Nurses from Hospice, Mercy Health Visiting Nurses and others for all the love and care they gave Bub. He was preceded in death by his parents.
