Obituary For Carolyn Kay Burgtorf
Carolyn Kay Burgtorf (McNitt) age 78 passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born in Grand Haven, MI on August 5, 1942 to Bernard and Bernice McNitt. She graduated from Ferris State University with a bachelor’s degree and went on to teach at several schools. She married Donald George Burgtorf on June 12, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2004; her son-in-law, Dan Van Heukelom; granddaughter, Sable Ann Farmer; brothers-in-law, Gerald A. Porter and Steve (Stella) Pustai; Sister-in-law, Florine Burgtorf. She is survived by her children, Lauri Anne Burgtorf, Michael and Jo Burgtorf, Ronald and Lori Burgtorf, Annette Van Heukelom, Aaron and Debbie Burgtorf, Eric and Ann Burgtorf; grandchildren, Miles, Montana, Carder, Tristyn, Ethen, Brecca, Lana; siblings, Marjorie (Elroy) Schaefer, Gale (Marilyn) McNitt; Paulette Porter, Darlene Rayba; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin with Rev. Mark Oswald Officiating. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 6, from 6 until 8 P.M. at the school gymnasium, and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The National Kidney Foundation or Trinity Lutheran Church.
