Obituary For Donna Jane Dorman

Donna Jane Dorman, age 94, passed away at Meadowlark Retirement Village in Sparta, MI on December 3, 2020. She was born on May 10, 1926 to Frederick and Wilhelmena Meinke in Grand Rapids, where she grew up and graduated from Central High School. She was married to Percy "Joe" Dorman for over 45 years until he preceded her in death in 1994. Donna and Joe raised 4 daughters and later enjoyed many grandchildren. Donna was a loving, caring grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was an avid reader, loved doing jigsaw puzzles, knitting (donating hundreds of baby and chemo caps to hospitals), needlepoint and enjoyed playing bingo in retirement.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Thomas) Cook, Karen (Dennis) Cornell, Katy (Greg) Palmer and Lori (Louis) Snyder; 7 grandchildren, Eric (Suzanne) Bottorff, Mark (Misty) Bottorff, Megan (Kiley) Paquin, Lindsey (Brian) Roark, Chelsie (Aaron) Tadajewski, Angela and Christopher Snowden, and many great grandchildren, with another due in February. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, and her 2 brothers, Kenneth and Gordon Meinke.

Due to Covid-19 gathering restrictions, a memorial service will take place at a later date. Donna’s final resting place will be in Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery with her late husband and parents. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in her memory may do so to Peace Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Sparta MI.

A very special thank you to the Memory Care aides who took care of her so well and lovingly at Meadowlark. They always knew they could stop in her room for a few moments of conversation and a piece of chocolate when they needed one! She thought the world of you all.
