Obituary For Douglas E. Martens
Douglas E. Martens, age 73, of Casnovia, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 with family and friends at his side.
Doug was born on September 23, 1947 to Jerry and Donna (Afton) Martens in Sparta. He graduated from Kent City High School in 1966 and drove truck for many years for National Fruit, Herman Miller, and Walmart retiring in 2017.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry E. Martens; his mother, Donna Martens-Lamorandier; his step-father, William Lamorandier; and his father-in-law, John L. Kriger.
Doug is survived by his wife Marlene (Kriger) Martens; his sons Jason Martens and Steven (Holly) Martens; his grandchildren, Cooper Martens and Tessa Martens; his mother-in-law, Doris Kriger; his brothers, Rick (Diane) Martens, Randy (Deanna) Martens; his sister-in-law, Susan (Kenneth) Anderson; his step-sister, Mary (Mike) Hansen; his three step-brothers, Mark Lamorandier, David (Karina) Lamorandier, and Paul (Linda) Lamorandier; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1379 Harding Street, Conklin, MI 49403. Rev. Mark Oswald will be officiating.
The Martens family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, August 2, 2021 in the Family Life Center at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin.
There will also be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Tuesday.
Burial will take place in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church Museum.
