Obituary For John LeRoy White

John LeRoy White, of Sparta, passed away at his home after a lengthy illness, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the age of 75 with his family at his side. He was born in Cedar Springs, Michigan on September 12, 1945 to Roy and Hattie (Veltkamp) White. He graduated from Sparta High School in 1964, served in the Army National Guard and worked as a Tool and Die Maker at General Motors. John was beloved by all. He loved to hunt and fish, was an avid runner and a skilled woodworker.
John is survived by his loving wife, Tonda White; his daughters, Brenda DeGraaf (Jim Lubberts) and Robin Mireles (Emilio); granddaughter, Macie DeGraaf (Hasan Haider, fiancé); grandsons, Ty DeGraaf and Rico Mireles; step-daughter, Robin (Scott) Miller; stepson, Tim (Renee) Hopkins; many more grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; sisters, Jane (Dick) VanderHyde and Renee (Paul) Turner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
As John wished, cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John may do so to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
