Obituary For Mary Katherine Schutter
Mary Katherine Schutter age 84 was ushered by the angels into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 17, 2021 from her home with her family at her side. She was born in Newaygo County to Frank and Charlotte Hall on October 8, 1937. Mary was born again on July 10, 1952 at Lake Ann Baptist Youth Camp. She married Irvan C. Schutter on June 15, 1956 in Kent City. She graduated from Kent City High School, class of 1955. She was a graduate of Muskegon Community College, School of Nursing, Class # 7 in June 1966. Mary retired from the former Muskegon General Hospital after 33 years of service. She received several awards during that time. She was a Charter Member of the Ravenna Baptist Church which was organized in 1959. She was presently attending Kent City Baptist Church where she enjoyed doing projects for the Missionaries in the Ladies Mission. She and Irvan loved camping, visits to Mississippi (30 years) and Knitting and Reading. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Irvan; son Michael (Lori) Schutter; daughter, Rhonda (James) Greiner; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Marci) Schutter, Steven (Amanda) Schutter, Timothy (Rachel) Greiner, Kristi (Matt) Soules, Daniel Greiner, Megan (Chad) Quinlan; 13 great grandchildren; Sisters, Ruth (Jay) Wells, Elizabeth Labuzan, Dorothy (Howie) Freelander; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hall in 1957; her mother, Charlotte Hall in 1989; brothers, Charles Hall in 2004, Richard Hall in 2014; niece, Anglea Labuzan; her special parents in law, Jake and Mary Schutter; brother in law, Vernon Schutter. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 11:00 A.M. at the Kent City Baptist Church with Rev. Ken VanderWest officiating. Interment in Chubbuck Cemetery, Kent City. Friends may meet the family at the Church on Saturday, 1 hour prior to the service.
