Obituary for Nancy Annette Johnson
Nancy Annette Johnson, age 80, passed away at Fountain View Assisted Living in Coopersville, Mi. on Friday, September 25, 2020. She was born in Sparta, Mi. on April 26, 1940 to Irving and Gertrude (Blaauw) Humphreys. She married John David Johnson in 1965 and he preceded her in death in 2014 after 50 years of marriage.
To know Aunt Nancy was to love her. Her kind heart, quick wit, sense of humor and ability to find joy in the simple things were a few attributes we all admired.
Nancy enjoyed motorcycling with her husband, John, in years past. Recently, she had the opportunity to ride with her great nephew on his motorcycle. It brought so much joy to us to see her so happy.
Even though she didn’t have children of her own, she loved and treasured her nieces and nephews and the feeling was mutual. Nancy was a treasured member of our family and will certainly be missed.
Nancy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Irving and Nancy Humphreys; her nieces and nephews, Kenneth (Laura) Humphreys, Jennifer (Steven) Harper, Ron (Christine) Humphreys, Kandi (Dale) Braspennix and Annette (John) Bitely; her brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson and sister-in-law, Bonnie Johnson; and many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents, Irving and Gertrude.
Services for Nancy will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home at 12:00PM with Pastor Mike Conklin officiating. Family will meet visitors beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fountain View Assisted Living, 640 Randall St. Coopersville, Mi. 49404 or Mamrelund Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at the Coopersville Fountain View Assisted Living.
