Obituary For Nina Maxine (Mickey) Reister
Nina Maxine (Green) Reister age 96 passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021 at St. Ann’s Home in Grand Rapids. She was born Oct. 21, 1924 in Kent City to Melzer and Mina Green. She married Clifford Reister on February 7, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin. Many knew her as Mick, others as Mickey, we knew her as mom, aunt, grandma and great & great, great- grandma Reister – the Matriarch of our family. She was never without a voice in any conversation – to the end even wondering if she needed to get involved in any particular situation to take care of the issue. Her mind was always thinking about her family and what they were doing and ‘were they working hard?’ or ‘did they have a good job?’ or ‘were they busy?’. Why might you ask? She was always busy! In her 96 years she cared for so many – some of us who were her blood relatives and others who she chose to call her family as if they were blood-related. We have a much larger family than we would have had due to her choices to care for people beyond what seems normal. She retired from Lear-Siegler and then went to work for Sparta Area Schools and retired from there, too. Yet she never retired from any other aspect of her life! She was married to the love of her life, Clifford Reister, and they spent many of their years together on a farm in Conklin along with a cottage in Pierson, MI. Memories of both places live on in all of her family, times we will never forget and forever cherish. She leaves behind her children: Darlene & Dan Bekins, Jaynee & Jim Hoag, Dixie Terpstra, Pete Childress, and Margie & Rich Bloom. Deceased children: Martin Reister, Michael Reister, and son-in-law Edwin Terpstra; her grandchildren, Cindy & Tom Wessel, David & Kim Platt, Julie & Dave DeKam, DuWayne & Amy Platt, Paul & Kristen Petersen, Angela and Brent Christie, Marty & Darcy Reister, Michael & Candice Reister, Chad & Andrea Reister, Michelle & Charlie Jaquays, Brian & Keri Hoag, Rhonda Terpstra, Renee & Rich James, Brad (deceased) & Michelle Terpstra, Yvette & Greg O’Strander, Brett & Jennifer Terpstra, Jason Bloom, Jessica Bloom, special niece, Alyce Mortensen, in addition to several great and great, great grandchildren. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, July 10th @ 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conklin, MI where she was a lifetime member, Reverend Mark Oswald officiating. Visitation with family will be an hour before service at 10:00am.
If desired, friends may make a memorial contribution to Trinity Lutheran School, 1379 Harding St., Conklin, MI 49403.

🎖️🏋️🏇🥵💃🍒🍓NINA..MIC.MAXMAX HEAVEN GETS BOOSTED NOW MIC BLESS GOOD NIGHT LONG TIME NO FORGOTTEN LOVE BALANCE
I've know her all my life...she was my godmother...she was always kind and helpful to me! When I married Jim she gave my bridal shower...the crazy aunts on the Seelman side...two of whom married Reisters, my mom and dad were best friends with her and Cliff, and Barb and Dan! So many good stories...I watched her bury, Marty and Cliff and Mike...such faith and grace. She worked hard her whole life! Always busy, always helping, it was hard to keep up with her...she took in many "strays" and treated them like her own! Not sure how many she took care of as their life was ending! I know she was greeted by many as she entered with Jesus. I will miss her until I see her again...RIP Mickey!
