Obituary For Patricia Lee Babcock
Patricia Lee Babcock age 81 passed away unexpectedly following a fall at her home on Sunday, June 27, 2021. She was born February 20, 1940, to Evan and Aileen Peck in San Pedro, CA, where her father was serving in the U. S. Navy. They later moved to Idaho, Illinois, and then White Cloud, MI where she helped her parents operate Hill Top Cabins for several years. Pat graduated from White Cloud High School in 1958 and then attended Ferris State College for 1 year. She was hired into by Gerber Products as a secretary. She married Earl Babcock in White Cloud on June 18, 1960 and they moved to the Sparta area in 1968 then the Kent City area in 2005. She continued her secretarial work for the Principal at Sparta High School, the president of Choice One Bank, then went on to be the Pastor's secretary at Sparta United Methodist Church until 2002 when she retired. Pat had a life-long love of music which led to her singing in church choirs for over 50 years. She was also very active in the women's circles in her church. In addition to music, Pat enjoyed traveling with Earl and was able to do three ocean cruises and a trip to Norway to visit a former exchange student. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Aileen; sisters, Carol Dougan, Donna Hayes; brothers, Jim Peck, Jeff Ford. She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughter, Karen and Ron Marohn; son, David Babcock; grandchildren, Bethany Riordan (Nick Willette), Erick Tomasunas (Katielyn); great grandchildren, Karson, Spencer, Brendan, Weston, and Madisonlyn; brothers in law, Jim Dougan, Ralph Hayes; many nieces, nephew, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sparta United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Friedrick officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Sparta. Friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 30, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and at the Church on Thursday, 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Children's Camping Program at Sparta United Methodist Church, 46 East Division St. Sparta, MI 49345

Pat - was so sorry to hear you passed away - but into Christ's glory - Hallelujah! So sorry we lost touch for the last few years - God blessed me with your friendship! Will pray for Earl - this has got to be so hard for him! Will see you in heaven someday, Pat!
