Bob was proud Firefighter for Grand Rapids Station 11 for several years. Fight Fires & Save Lives was the motto he lived by. He was known for his wit and practical jokes (especially at the firehouse), his homemade kielbasa, and his infamous dad jokes – which he excelled at. Bob moved up the UP after retiring. He also traveled the country and spent many winters in Hemet, California. He loved the outdoors and truly cherished his life in the UP. He loved to hunt and fish (especially, Walleye Bob on Round Lake). Most of all, Bob was a loving father and grandfather to his children and great grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
